Calabasas Saddlery has been the premier location for Southern California's equestrian needs for more than 50 years. Family-owned and operated since 1968, we're your source for everything from saddles and grooming supplies to boots, helmets, and equestrian apparel.

Calabasas Saddlery first opened its doors in 1968, serving the small equestrian communities of Southern California's San Fernando Valley. Vern Benfer purchased the store in 1973, figuring that it would be cheaper to own the store than continue to buy horse equipment for his three daughters. The Saddlery has been a family affair ever since--it is owned and operated today by his daughter Julie.

Its central location and knowledgeable staff allowed the Saddlery to quickly establish itself as the premier equestrian supply store in the Los Angeles Area, offering a wide variety of goods to a continuously growing horse community. The store became a destination, not only for legendary riders, trainers, and Hollywood celebrities, but also for those just learning to ride.

As one of the oldest continuously operating retail businesses in the city, the Saddlery played an important role in the development of Calabasas, and the brightly lit red sign became a landmark for many people traveling up and down the 101.

Today, the empty fields around the store have been replaced by office parks and housing developments, but our original commitment to providing everything for the horse and rider remains. Our friendly staff is composed of experienced horse people whose knowledge and experience combine to offer you the best customer service in the business.
